MTB - Lençóis - Remanso - Rowboat - Roncador - SUP/Canadier
Just after breakfast we will leave Lençóis by mountain bike and soon start heading up hill for a few kilometers before reaching a sandy trail which we will follow for the next 2 hours until the small town of Remanso. Here you can relax a bit and enjoy an idyllic 1.5hours rowboat trip through the Marimbus marsh with the “Serra do Sincora” mountain chain in the background. This region is formed by the convergence of two rivers and offers a varied flora and fauna. Occasionally you can see different kind of birds and Capuchin monkeys and might also catch a glimpse of capybaras and caimans living in this area. A typical delicious regional lunch, cooked on fire, will be served at the “Casarão” - an old country house with lots of history which goes all the way back to the times of slavery.
The “Pasos do Roncador” with its great natural whirlpools, several small waterfalls and slides can be easily reached on foot in just about 20 minutes. Then we bike for the next hour on the historic road connecting to Andarai before reaching the SUP base in the afternoon. After adjusting our gear and following the introduction in how-to Stand Up Paddle (you can also choose a Canadier canoe if you prefer) we will be heading into this spectacular landscape of the Marimbus-Marsh, passing lots of water lilies, different kind of birds and here and there a fisherman catching a fish for dinner. Just before our arms get tired we will reach a little beach at a river inlet in the middle of the swamp. Here we will take a rest while enjoying this magical region at the border of the Serra da Sincora. Now it’s time to paddle back to the base – in the middle of nature in this incredible part of the Chapada Diamantina - The colors are intense, the sunset unforgettable – what a beautiful day. To regain some strength again when we are back at the SUP base try some fresh coconut or sugarcane juice and if you ever wondered how Jack-fruit (Dorian fruit) pastry tastes like then let yourself be surprised with this delicious Bahian specialty, the “Pastel de Palmito de Jaca”.

The adventure begins right in Lençóis. We cycle on the historic diamond path, crossing shallow rivers like the “Ribeirão de Baixo” and the “Capyvara” until we reach the snoring river – the Roncador.
Here a typical delicious regional lunch, cooked on fire, will be served at the “Casarão” - an old country house with lots of history which goes all the way back to the times of slavery nearby the Roncador river.

05. Mountain Biking Capão Valley - Lençóis "Valley & Mountains"
3 Brother valley and Barro Branco
Short description
MTB - Capão - Barro Branco - Lençóis
Today a car will drop us off in the village of Caeté-Açu inside the neighbour valley of Capão, just about 1000m above sea level and two hours away from Lençóis. We explore this cute hippie village, try some of the delicious “Pastel de Palmito de Jaca” and make our way to the end of the valley where one of Brazil best known hiking trails leads into the famous “Vale do Pati” in the center of the Chapada Diamantina. We bike first back on a gravel road before reaching the single trail which will lead us pass the highest flat table mountain of the northern Chapada Diamantina – the Morrão. Here we will be already rewarded with a short downhill passage before reaching the natural pools of Aguas Claras. The perfect place to rest and take a refreshing bath inside a beautiful natural pool with its romantic waterfall. We continue our bike adventure through the valley of the 3 brothers, passing the “Serra do Sobradinho” and the “Serra do Mucugezinho” until we reach Ponem. Soon after the next starts the next downhill passage through the canyon of the “Serra dos Venenos”. We are now not far away anymore from Barro Branco, a small “ex-carimpeiro” community. After tasting a freshly prepared sugar cane juce we are heading downhill for 7 km towards Lençóis. If you like it more technical we can also use another single trail which will pass by the “Gruta do Lapão”, the biggest quartzite cave of Brazil.
