11.Pratinha (Silver lake) with Lapa Doce cave or
Flat table mountain Pai Inácio
By car we travel north, crossing the chapada diamantina in direction Iraquara. This area is much dryer than Lençóis, which makes it perfect to jump into the crystal clear silver lake of the pratinha and refresh a bit. The water is only hips deep, very calm and has no current – the perfect place to just enjoy and relax. The Pratinha offers also other attractions like the fluctuation into a cave, which you can buy onside. Equipt with snorkling gear, lifejacket and a flashlight this guided tour explores the pratinha cave in about 45 minutes. Feel like a real cave explorer and meet the many small colourful fishes that will cross your way on the way back. For the more brave ones there is also a zipline that starts 10m above the lake and let you slide directly into the water.
Just a 15 minute’s walk away we´ll visit the blue cave in the beginning of the afternoon. Depending of the time of the year the sunrays enter for a short moment into the cave and eluminate the water with a stunning blue colour.
Choose one of the following options to combine with your visit at the Pratinha:
Option 1 – Lapa Doce cave (the second biggest cave of Brazil)
The second biggest cave of Brazil, the Lapa Doce cave is just 20 minutes away from the Pratinha. With its impressive limestone formations, the stalactites and stalagmites this cave extends for more than 42km. We´ll cross the cave for nearly 1km – equipped with just a flashlight, but no worries, it´s big and ample. Make sure to bring closed shoes for this part of the tour. Inside the cave it´s all year long 21 degrees and dry.
Option 2 – Postcard of the Chapada Diamantina, Flat table mountain Pai Inácio
About half way back to Lençóis we´ll visit the famous flat table mountain Pai Inácio – an important symbol of the Chapada Diamantina. After a 20 minutes steep climb, we can enjoy the different postcard views of the vale do cercado and the three Brothers vale. And of course, we won´t miss the spectacular sunset before heading back to Lençóis.

Level 1: The Pratinha farm is very easy to walk
Level 1-2: Mild to moderate walk; is feasible for everyone in good physical condition. Approximately 15-20 minutes climb Table Mountain Pai Inácio and about 1.5 hours at the lapa doce cave. Suitable for all ages
